Planning a spring or summer team day? Here is why you should paint together

Spring and summer are the most popular seasons for team days in Finland — and for good reason. Longer days, lighter energy, and the natural rhythm of renewal make it the ideal time to bring your team together for something memorable.

What makes a team day actually worth it?

A team day should be something people look forward to. It is a chance to step away from everyday routines, spend time together and simply enjoy being a team.

But what if it could do a little more?

Not by turning the day into another training session, but by creating an experience that is genuinely enjoyable while helping people connect, reflect and understand each other better.

That is exactly what we aim to create at Team Creativity.

Työhyvinvointi ja luovuus

The best team days combine fun with purpose

Team days often lean in one of two directions. They are either pure entertainment, which can be great fun but quickly forgotten, or they focus so heavily on development that the day starts to feel like work.

I don’t think you should have to choose between the two.

A great team day can be light, energising and full of laughter while still creating something meaningful. In fact, some of the best conversations happen precisely because people are relaxed and doing something completely different together.

Why painting works so well for a team day

There is something wonderfully simple about sitting down together with a blank canvas and a paintbrush.

Nobody needs to know how to paint. There is no right answer and no perfect result to aim for.

Soon, people start experimenting, laughing and becoming curious about what their colleagues are creating. The usual workplace roles begin to matter a little less.

But the painting is never the purpose.

It is a tool that helps people slow down, think differently and connect in a way that can be surprisingly difficult during a normal working day.

A team day can still have a meaningful goal

Sometimes the goal is simply to bring everyone together and have a genuinely good time. That is absolutely enough.

Other teams want to strengthen collaboration, reconnect after change, explore their values, clarify a shared direction or talk about workload and recovery.

We build the creative exercises and facilitated conversations around your goal, so the experience feels natural rather than like a training session disguised as a team day.

What does a Team Creativity team day look like?

Our workshops work for groups from 5 to 50+ people and last from 1.5 to 4 hours. We come to your location anywhere in Finland and take care of the materials, preparation, facilitation and clean-up.

The workshop can stand on its own or become part of a larger team day, kick-off, wellbeing day or company event.

All your team needs to do is show up. And no, nobody needs to know how to paint.

A team day people actually remember

Of course, a team day should be fun. The best ones also leave something behind.

A new conversation. A different perspective on a colleague. A shared realisation. A little more understanding of each other.

And probably quite a lot of laughter along the way.
